Historical Renovation

Guest post by Jewel Cole

My new house is the center of my life. When I bought such an old home, I knew it would be a lot of work to fix up, but I never thought it would be this difficult and expensive. The house was originally built in 1838, and is in a historical neighborhood. It went on the market because the owner passed away and his children didn’t have the resources to fix it up. I almost felt bad for the family, because I know it was hard for them to sell the house. They all grew up there and wanted to make sure it went to someone who would restore the home’s dignity. The renovations are now almost done, and I am just putting on the finishing touches before moving in. I am currently researching Wirelss security systems so I can make sure I get the best one. After that, all I have to do is paint the master bedroom, and replace a faucet, and then I can move in. I am so excited to send picturesof the finished house to the family that sold it to me. I think they will be proud of what the house looks like now.
